Wow, this one is so generic I almost thought I was re-reading another fairy tale, evil stepmother, running away and transforming to hide...

But then the unnamed female protagonist turns into flower and WANTS to be trampled, but is picked up by Shepard and she does his tasks, the Shepard undoes the spell and she returns to his true love.

The only named character is the lady's love, who was barely in the story and didn't do anything.
